Olivia Rodrigo has been gearing up to finally release new music.
The 19-year-old hitmaker released her debut album Sour in May 2021 and achieved record-breaking success, which included winning three Grammy Awards for her work.
After making her fans wait for over a year, she shared a quick clip on her Instagram stories on January 8 to tease new music. She wrote: ‘Working on so many new songs I’m excited to show u! Thank u for everything.’

In the video, the good 4 u singer sat with her Sour album producer, Dan Nigro, and had a short piano melody playing.
She recently celebrated the two-year anniversary of the release of her debut single, Driver’s License, which has been credited with launching her career.
The song broke the Spotify record for most one-day streams for a non-holiday song and also broke the record for the fastest song to reach 100 million streams on Spotify.
It also won her the award for Best Pop Solo Performance at the Grammys in 2022 and earned her two more nominations for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Olivia received seven Grammy nominations total for Sour and won two more the same year for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best New Artist.
Upon its initial release, many fans assumed that the Deja Vu singer’s album was about her unconfirmed relationship with her High School Musical: The Musical: The Series costar Joshua Bassett.
The pair, who met on the set of HSMTMTS, never confirmed they were dating, but they also never denied it.
Due to the speculation that the album and her song Driver’s License were about him, the Set Me Free singer recently got candid with PEOPLE about the health challenges and the mental health struggles he dealt with during the height of the song’s popularity.

He found himself at the center of intense public scrutiny after the release of Driver’s License and then again after the release of Sour. He even received death threats on social media.
‘I felt my heart literally failing,” said Joshua. ‘I was like, “This isn’t just anxiety. This is bad.”‘
The Feel Something singer shared that after being checked into the hospital, doctors told him if he hadn’t checked in within 12 hours of when he did, he would’ve died in his apartment. He was then diagnosed with septic shock and heart failure.

Joshua had his hand around Olivia’s waist as they both flashed peace signs and stuck out their tongues for the cameras.
