Charley Crockett Drops “Odessa ” Music Video, Off His 'The Man From Waco' Album – Whiskey Riff

Country music is the lifeblood of Whiskey Riff, and we pride ourselves on standing firmly in the corner of the independent artists, and those few in the mainstream still doing it the right way. Whether it’s Waylon, Willie and legends of the past, or superstars in the making like Zach Bryan, our finger is always on the pulse of true country music. From Texas to Tennessee, Appalachia to Bakersfield, Whiskey Riff is THE unapologetic voice of the country music fan.
A RIFF on what makes the great outdoors…great.
“Country” is more than just a steel guitar. It’s a lifestyle. A mindset. A cold beer, hot grill and the great outdoors. A lifestyle so perfectly captured by the country greats of yesterday, but still alive and well today in artists who truly get it.
Whiskey Riff is that lifestyle.
Say goodbye to boredom.
The best playlists in country music…period.
On ‘Whiskey Riff Raff,’ Steve Gazibara and Wes Langeler give an unfiltered and unapologetic take on country music, life, and all the craziness that comes with it. Laugh with us. Rant with us. Drink with us.
I’m fully convinced there isn’t an artist in country music as busy as Charley Crockett.
We’re talking about a guy who has already released 12 studio albums in only seven short years, and on top of that, he’s constantly in the studio making new music, and tours year in and year out as well.
Not to mention, the guy has one helluva back story, as he was a homeless street performer before his rise to fame, which is just one more reason we all love and have a ton of respect for the guy.
On top of that, his soulful, old school incorporation of country music, western swing, folk, soul and jazz sets him apart from all the others in the industry.
With that being said, the man is back at it again with a brand new music video for his song “Odessa,” off his The Man from Waco album that dropped back in September.
The music video for “Odessa” is made in that old school static-y tape recording setting, having us all reminiscing on the old family videos that our parents would make when we were kids.
And for the video, it shows Crockett, his band, and rest of his team in the studio recording the song at Bruce Robison’s analog studio, The Bunker, outside of Austin, Texas.
The song itself is a heartbreaker about how Crockett can’t get Odessa out of his mind, because he can’t forget about the woman he lost while there. And although it hurts him every time, he can’t stop thinking about it.
